Sur un autre sujet, j'ai appris un truc de dingue sur le Projet Orion il y a peu. Si vous vous intéressez au voyage spacial, vous savez de quoi je parle: Le Projet Orion était un projet de la NASA des années 60, et c'est probablement un leur programmes le plus fou de loin, même par rapport à Apollo. Le but du projet était de créer un vaisseau spatial propulsé au moyen d'explosions nucléaires.
L'idée était de lâcher des bombes atomiques derrière le vaisseau et de littéralement SURFER sur l'onde de choc nucléaire...
Je ne le savais pas, mais des tests avaient été réalisés. Et ça marchait. Je suis tombé par hasard sur une vidéo ou l'on voit des petits engins décoller en lâchant des explosifs (classiques, hein, pas nucléaires) et grimper, grimper, grimper à l'aides des explosions. Le résultat est totalement dingue, non ?

Ok, to ask forgiveness for yesterday's joke, I'm posting today... Those of you who follow me on Facebook have seen some of this when I was painting it, I'm finished, so here it is!
On an unrelated note I learned something crazy about Project Orion not long ago. If you're interested in space travel you've probably heard of it. Project Orion was a 1960's NASA project, probably one of the craziest things they ever though up: the goal of the project to was create a nuclear powered spaceship that actually used nuclear explosions to propel itself.
The idea was to drop atomic bombs behind the ship and have the spaceship actually RIDE on the nuclear shock wave... Recently I came across a video that shows actual tests of the device, which I didn't know they did (I thought the project never left the drawing board). Well it worked. In the video, you see a little machine climb up, riding on explosion after explosion (classical explosives were used though, not nuclear!) and it is as crazy as it sounds. It looks insane and totally AWESOME, doesn't it ?
